Being emotionally present to clients is an essential aspect of my therapy. I utilize traditional therapeutic modalities as well as more intuitive and holistic ones to guide my clients in resolving emotional and interpersonal difficulties and gaining clarity in making life choices. I place significant importance in developing self-knowledge as a tool for personal growth and insight into the questions “Who am I?” and “Why am I here?”
Several years ago, my children commented that I was entering the “Crone” stage of my life and I discovered that “Crone” denotes a wisdom and perspective that comes from life experience, inner work and study. As an aspiring Crone, I draw on these assets to help clients to open doors to new vistas in their lives.
My background is clinical, academic and administrative. I am a former faculty member of Duquesne University and the University of New Mexico. At UNM and the Institute of Living in Hartford, Connecticut, I initiated new programs for inpatient care and supervised and trained fellows and post-graduate therapists in outpatient and inpatient services.
My training includes:
- Archetypal Counseling
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy
- EMDR (Trauma Treatment)
- Gestalt Therapy
- Mindfulness
- Life Coaching
